Beating the heat wave

Konnichiwa!

Yeah, its my last night here in Hakuba and despite the falling overs and the numerous black and blues all over my legs - this getaway has not only been fun but a blessing in disguise! The over 40'C heatwave that hit Melbourne this week... well - we beat it lol!

More details and pics when we head back to Melbourne.

Heat Wave!

Typical Melbourne.

It was a nice and manageable earlier this week - and at times we even had to turn the heater on-low because it was rather chilly and the whole of this week has it on the high 30's!

The A/C has been on a constant switch-on and the fan on the whole night.

I am actually looking double forward to the nice winter weather and a snowboarding in Hakuba next week. Will be staying in a boutique hotel by the snowfields itself which means waking up and walking over - whoo hoo. No side trips to Tokyo as will be there for the full week but perhaps might head to Nagano for a day trip.

Knowing me - I might start whinging that it is too cold! Lol.

Typical eh?

Out of my mind

Working from home can be such a bore at times.

I had some time to do paperwork scheduled this morning and this afternoon was a phone pre-implementation meeting but the client postponed the meeting to this Friday which leaves my whole day with paperwork!

Now - some might take advantage of the situation but seriously, there is only so much one can do before you go out of your MIND with BOREDEM!

I need to find something to do....

Early yr reflections.

I was in a text msg marathon with a coupla mates last night. One of the msg's was a recap of her recent escapades to usher in the new yrs. She was out at a trendy nightspot, rubbing shoulders with the smart and the not-so-smart and having a wicked time (which includes some very naughty activities naturally).

All of this makes me in a way sad. I miss the good ol' days where I used to do all of that.

  • The times when I could walk around any night spot in Bangsar and everyone knowing and buying me drinks.
  • Dancing the night away (or up on a table/bar top) at Finnegan's.
  • Having multiple spanky boards at TSB or vodka shooters by the dozen.
  • Pashing some random stranger just for the heck of it (as long as he is great eye candy of course!).
  • "Helping" mates pull said random stranger - just because I could.
  • The late night supper at Devi's or Pelita having tandoori chicken or spicy mutton varuvel.
  • The mediocre nasi lemak with that rocking ayam goreng by the dirty side street at the mamak's in Bangsar.
  • Perhaps heading up to DV8 for another late nighter or even driving up to Genting just for fun.
  • Coming back home at 7,8, 9 am - to sleep the whole day and walking up in the evening for an early dinner and catch up about the day after.

All these things are long gone. I ushered in the new yrs with drinks at a mates and then walking to Albert Park to catch the fireworks and had some champagne before going back to the mates for more drinks and Wii'ing.

I miss the days of before. I miss the thrill of being able to catch a guy's attention with just a glance or a quick smile. I miss the being and going all crazy.

However, the thrill of getting all smashed is dampened by the fact that one gets kicked out from clubs for any trouble here in Australia. Here, where clubs are frequented by 20 yr olds high to their eyeballs on drugs.

But do I want to change my status quo? To go back to late night's, random's and lack of responsibility?

Surprisingly, the answer is No.

It is nice to go out sometimes and just let it all loose but I am content now. I even decline invites due to laziness. I might be in the danger of turning into a couch potato at times but you know what? I don't really care.

Enough said.
